This post is almost 6 months late. But I don’t mind one bit, because it means I get to look through sweet Rory’s newborn session once more <3
The story of how I got to this session is amazing, really. When I lived in Germany almost a decade ago, I connected with a fellow photographer that lived on the same base that I did (Amanda Bailey I cannot thank you enough!). We both ended up moving to Fort Hood, Texas and met up and became friends. I eventually came to Virginia, but Amanda stayed in Texas where she met Christina and her husband, John. They had a few photo sessions together (which were all amazing, btw) and then last year I found out that Christina moved to Virginia and Amanda had referred her to me for newborn photos. Y’all. When I tell you it was absolute fate that we met…woo.
So fast forward to last year. Christina emailed me about a newborn session. Rory is an IVF baby as well as a rainbow baby – a true miracle. I about passed out because this was an absolute dream, to set up a rainbow baby session!!! Her due date was mid-November, and as fate would have it, Rory was born on my son’s first birthday. I couldn’t make this up if I tried. Isn’t that just amazing? What are the odds <3
It truly was a blessing to photograph baby Rory and honor her story. I’ve grown to LOVE this girl (wait till you see all the recent sessions I’ve done with this pumpkin. EEEK!) and I am SO glad I was the one that Christina picked to photograph her. I have loved watching Rory grow into a beautiful little ball of sunshine, and I know this girl is meant for great things.
Thank you to Christina and John, for trusting me with your brand new babe, for trusting my vision, and for letting me document your story. I love you guys.
Y’all. That face. I about melted 🙁
